Food imported to Kazakhstan not checked for pesticides, dioxine and micotoxins

Astana. January 30. Kazakhstan Today - The Minister of Health of Kazakhstan, Zhaksylyk Doskaliev, at the meeting in the Health Ministry said food stuffs imported to Kazakhstan are not checked for pesticides, dioxides and many micotoxins, the agency reports.

"The food stuffs, imported to Kazakhstan, are not checked for such dangerous substances as new pesticides, dioxines, and many micotoxins," Z. Doskaliev said.

The Minister of Health has noted that 70 % of diseases and 60 % of death rate are due to malignant tumors directly connected with the wrong diet. "75 % - 80 % of harmful ecological factors, including carcinogens, enter our organism through food and potable water. Therefore, we consider it very important to carry out harmonization of the state standards of food and other normative documents connected with them with the corresponding international standards and requirements to food products," he emphasized.
