Grant scholars of Bolashak program compensated more than 44 million KZT
Astana. August 14. Kazakhstan Today - The expelled grant-aided scholars of Bolashak program have returned to the state more than 44 million KZT for 6 months of 2009. $1 million has been returned to the state budget during all years of existence of the program. The official representative of the Ministry of Education and Science of Kazakhstan, Serik Irsaliev, informed, the agency reports.
"More than 44 million KZT, during the first half of 2009, has been returned to the treasury. $1 million has been returned to the state during all years of existence of the program," S. Irsaliev said.
"14 students have been expelled from their programs during the first half of 2009. 68 Kazakhstan grant-aided students have been expelled from their programs during all sixteen-year history of Bolashak program for poor progress in studies.

Oil spill detected in Caspian Sea
According to space monitoring data, received from Sentinel-1A (02:43 UTC), an oil spill was detected on March 30 in the area of Kashagan field in the Caspian Sea. The spill area is about 7 square kilometers. The spill was drifting to the north of the Caspian Sea," the publication reads.
If these facts are confirmed by Atyrau region’s Ecology Department, unscheduled inspection will be conducted at the North Caspian Operating Company. The results will be reported additionally," the Ecology Committee says.
