India intends to increase production of atomic energy for peaceful purposes, the agency reports citing the United Nations press service.

Almaty. August 14. Kazakhstan Today - India intends to increase production of atomic energy for peaceful purposes, the agency reports citing the United Nations press service.

According to the report of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), which will be discussed at the General Conference of the agency in September, "there is global interest to nuclear energy use for peaceful purposes nowadays. Many countries, especially in Asia, are engaged in search of additional energy sources, including by construction of the new atomic power stations."

India within the next two decades plans to expand nuclear energy production by 15 times.
