ODIHR/OSCE Director considers Kazakhstan legislators need to consult OSCE bodies

ODIHR/OSCE Director considers it necessary for Kazakhstan legislators to consult the corresponding OSCE bodies while working on the bill on amendments and additions to some acts of Kazakhstan concerning information-communication networks. Director of the OSCE/ODIHR, Yanesh Lenarchich, informed during the press conference after the meeting with the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, Marat Tazhin, the agency reports.

Kazakhstan Today - ODIHR/OSCE Director considers it necessary for Kazakhstan legislators to consult the corresponding OSCE bodies while working on the bill on amendments and additions to some acts of Kazakhstan concerning information-communication networks. Director of the OSCE/ODIHR, Yanesh Lenarchich, informed during the press conference after the meeting with the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, Marat Tazhin, the agency reports.

"I consider that the developers of the bills need to consult the corresponding OSCE bodies, including the representative on freedom of the media," he said.

As informed earlier, the day before Majilis of Parliament of Kazakhstan in the first reading passed the bill on amendments and additions to some acts of the Republic of Kazakhstan on information-communication networks, which was developed by the Information and Communication Agency.
