Baikonur. August 21. Kazakhstan Today - The second of three satellites intended for launch on September 25 has been delivered to Baikonur, the agency reports referring to a source at the cosmodrome.

The space satellite Glonass-M was delivered yesterday to the air station Yubileyny by a transport plane.

After unloading the space satellite Glonass-M with auxiliary equipment was transported to the assembly testing complex of the platform 92А-50 for prestarting preparations.

It is the second of three satellites, which is planned to be launched by means of the rocket carrier Proton-M. The first space satellite Glonass-M was delivered on August 11 and has been undergoing prestarting preparation. The third satellite will be delivered to the cosmodrome in the end of August.

The space satellites Glonass-M were created in Open Society Reshetnev Information Satellite Systems. Launch of the satellites Glonass-M will enlarge up to the optimum quantity - 24 satellites group of satellites of the Russian Global navigating satellite system being in the orbit (Glonass). 6 satellites Glonass-M are planned to be launched up to the end of 2008.

Launch of three space satellites Glonass-M by means of the rocket carrier Proton-M is planned for September 25, 2008.
