Senate elected Supreme Court supervising board chairman

Astana. March 13. Kazakhstan Today - Today at the plenary session of the senate the deputies elected the Chairman of the supervising board of the Supreme Court and two judges of Kazakhstan, the agency reports.

"According to sub item 1, clause 55, item 1, clause 82 of the Kazakhstan Constitution, items 1, 4 clauses 31 of the constitutional law on judicial system and the status of judges, on the basis of the recommendation of the Highest judicial council I present Smolin Anatoly Sergeevich for the post of the Chairman of supervising board of the Supreme court, Abdykadyrov Elis Nurkasymovich and Makashev Zeynulla Mukhamedinovich for the posts of judges of the Supreme court," the President said.

The senate unanimously approved the nominees offered by the President. During plenary session the elected judges took the oath.

According to the Kazakhstan Constitution, the senate elects the chairman of the boards and judges of the Supreme Court of the Republic the President's recommendation.
