Shahtinsk court heard 35 of 53 victims of miners' death case

Shahtinsk. January 26. Kazakhstan Today - The court procedure on the fact of methane explosion, as a result of which 41miners died, continue its work in the city of Shahtinsk of the Karaganda oblast, the agency reports.

Today the court heard the victims' evidence. 35 people out of 53 have been already questioned; mainly they are the widows and mothers of the dead miners.

The agency correspondent reports from the hall of the court that not all of the victims consider guilty those who are on the dock. One of the mothers who lost her son said, "others are to face charges, those who occupy higher posts."

As it was informed earlier, the commission came to the conclusion that 22 people, including former chairmen of the company Mittal Steel Temirtau, are involved in the event. However, the accusation was brought against eight technical personnel of the mine.

The next session on the case is scheduled for January 30.

On September 20, as a result of methane explosion in the mine named after Lenin in the Karaganda oblast, 41 miners died, 8 people were heavily injured, four received light injures. Financial damage made 44 million 664 thousand KZT. The governmental commission named rough infringements of requirements of labor safety and safety precautions as the reason for the explosion.
