Shift to uniform national identification system to be completed by 2010

Astana. May 31. Kazakhstan Today - In Kazakhstan transition to uniform national identification system will be completed by 2010. The Chairman of the Committee for registration service of the Ministry of Justice Samat Abish said at the press conference on Wednesday, the agency reports.

"During three and a half years judicial authorities will create identification numbers for physical and legal persons. Thus, within three years there will be issued and be valid in parallel with the existing identifiers - identification card number, social identification code, registration number of tax payer and so on. They will be valid till August 12, 2010. Later, only individual identification numbers - IIN and business-identification number - BIN will be valid," S. Abish said.

As it was already informed, the law On National Registers of Identification Numbers providing introduction of IIN and BIN was accepted on January 12, 2007.
