Cooperation agreement in the field of energy will be signed during the visit of the President of Russia, Dmitry Medvedev, to Kyrgyzstan, the agency reports referring to the press service of the Ministry of Industry, Energy and Mineral Resources of Kazakhstan.

Bishkek. October 6. Kazakhstan Today - Cooperation agreement in the field of energy will be signed during the visit of the President of Russia, Dmitry Medvedev, to Kyrgyzstan, the agency reports referring to the press service of the Ministry of Industry, Energy and Mineral Resources of Kazakhstan.

According to the Ministry, the Minister of Energy, Saparbek Balkibekov, paid a working visit to Moscow on September 29 - September 30. During the visit the Minister held a bilateral meeting with his Russian counterpart - the Minister of Industry and Commerce of the Russian Federation, Victor Khristenko. During the meeting the parties discussed the question of use of credit of Russia allocated for Kyrgyzstan at the rate of $2 billion.

Following the results of the meeting, it was decided to form a joint study group on consideration of spheres of use of the given resources, terms and conditions.

During the visit Saparbek Balkibekov met the Minister of Energy of the Russian Federation, Sergey Shmatko. During the meeting the Ministers discussed questions of bilateral cooperation in the field of electric power industry, as well as preparation of the intergovernmental cooperation agreement in the field of energy, which will be signed during the official visit of the President of the Russian Federation to Kyrgyzstan.

Participation of the Russian energy companies in construction of new power objects in Kyrgyzstan, privatization of energy sector as well as a possibility of rendering assistance by the Ministry of Energy of Russia to Kyrgyzstan during heating period was discussed at the meeting.
