Currency reserves of China exceeded $2 trillion

According to the data published today by the Central Bank of China, by the end of June, 2009, currency reserves of China, having exceeded $2 trillion, have reached $2.1316 trillion that is by 17.84 % more than the indicator of the end of the first half of 2008, the agency reports citing Xinhua.

Kazakhstan Today - According to the data published today by the Central Bank of China, by the end of June, 2009, currency reserves of China, having exceeded $2 trillion, have reached $2.1316 trillion that is by 17.84 % more than the indicator of the end of the first half of 2008, the agency reports citing Xinhua.

"Statistics show that in April, May and June of 2009 currency reserves of China have increased by 55.2, 80.6 and 42.1 billion dollars accordingly," Xinhua informs.

"Over the last years, there have been a tendency of fast growth of currency reserves in China. China in February, 2006 left behind Japan and became the world leader. In October, 2009, currency reserves of the country have exceeded $1 billion. As of the end of 2007, this figure has increased up to $1.53 trillion and a year later - up to $1.95 trillion."
