Kazakhstan to return about 800 million cubic meters of gas to Gazprom within two months

"During the past heating season we borrowed about 800 million cubic meters (of gas). From September the work on returning the gas started. We have reached appropriate arrangements with Gazprom. The debt will be closed until November 1 of this year".

Astana. September 5. Kazakhstan Today - Kazakhstan will return about 800 million cubic meters of gas to Gazprom within two months, Kazakhstan Today reports.

"During the past heating season we borrowed about 800 million cubic meters (of gas). From September the work on returning the gas started. We have reached appropriate arrangements with Gazprom. The debt will be closed until November 1 of this year", Sauat Mynbayev, the Minister of Oil and Gas said on Tuesday during the selector government meeting.

He added that for the gas heating season this year, "we have agreed with the Chinese, respectively, with Gazprom, Uzbekistan that we will borrow a total of 1.2 billion cubic meters".

"The consumption of gas increases. Including 500 (million cubic meters) for the heating season of 2012, including December. And 700 for January - February - March of the next year", the Minister of Oil and Gas said.

Thus, according to S. Mynbayev, the resource issue, inparticular, on gas, in principle, is resolved.
