Next year will be rather bad for economy

The chairman of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Dominic Stross-Kan, said in the interview to the British Radio BBC that the forthcoming 2009 will be rather bad for the economy, the agency reports with reference to the information-analytical portal Oil of Russia.

Kazakhstan Today - The chairman of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Dominic Stross-Kan, said in the interview to the British Radio BBC that the forthcoming 2009 will be rather bad for the economy, the agency reports with reference to the information-analytical portal Oil of Russia.

"He informed that in the next report, which IMF will publish in January, estimations of rates of economic growth for the future year will be reconsidered towards downturn," the Russian site informs, citing the interview of the British Radio.

D. Stross-Kan noted that coordinated measures accepted at the last month in Washington at the summit of Big Twenty are not enough. We need to increase expenditures to stimulate growth of economy.

According to the Internet-edition, the IMF chairman called upon the countries of the world to increase volumes of financing of the stimulation programs up to 2 % of GDP.
