Prices for oil to remain within $70 - 75 per barrel

The prices for oil till the end of 2009 will remain within $70 - 75 per barrel. The President of the Union of Oil and Gas Industrialists of the Russian Federation, Gennady Shmal, stated today at the press conference in Moscow, the agency reports citing an information-analytical portal Neft Rossii.

Almaty. August 7. Kazakhstan Today - The prices for oil till the end of 2009 will remain within $70 - 75 per barrel. The President of the Union of Oil and Gas Industrialists of the Russian Federation, Gennady Shmal, stated today at the press conference in Moscow, the agency reports citing an information-analytical portal Neft Rossii.

According to the source, G. Shmal called last year's indicator, when the average annual price for oil was $95 per barrel, "overblown bubble", resulted due speculations. In his opinion, the present price is optimum as it gives sufficient margin to the oil companies and simultaneously makes oil affordable for consumers. "Next year, the price for oil will increase if there are no speculations," he specified.
