Russian MFA to develop creation of SCO energy club plan

Almaty. November 30. Kazakhstan Today - The Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Russia started to develop the plan of creation of energy club of Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO). The Director of the Center of research of East Asia and SCO of the Moscow State University of International Affairs Alexander Lukin said today in the interview to the correspondent of the agency during the international conference SCO: results and prospects.

According to the Vice Minister of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Kayrat Abdrakhmanov, creation of SCO energy club is very important proposal, which is now being discussed and has the right to exist.

"Nowadays energy diplomacy is considered to be in the category of priority directions in foreign policy strategy of many states including SCO member states," K. Abdrakhmanov said.

K. Abdrakhmanov emphasized that the main purpose of energy club will be defining of priority directions of development of energy cooperation.
