World prices for oil decreased on September 3

The world prices for oil, following the results of the tenders on Friday, September 3, decreased in the background of easing of business activity in service sector of the USA and also in connection with significant easing at the US east coast of the hurricane Earl threatening suspension of work of oil field.

Kazakhstan Today - The world prices for oil, following the results of the tenders on Friday, September 3, decreased in the background of easing of commercial activity in service sector of the USA and in connection with significant easing at the US east coast of the hurricane Earl threatening suspension of work of oil field.

The official cost of the October futures contract (settlement) of the North Sea oil of Brent Crude oil at the Intercontinental Exchange (ICE) during the last trading day decreased from $76.93 to $76.67 per barrel.

The official cost of the October futures contract (settlement) of delivery of oil of Light Sweet Crude Oil (WTI) at the New York Mercantile Exchange (NYMEX) during the last trading day decreased from $75.02 to $74.60 per barrel.

The price of OPEC oil basket (OPEC Reference Basket of crudes) increased on September 2 from $72.49 to $72.89 per barrel. For August, 2010, the average price of the OPEC oil amounted to $74.15 per barrel.
