40 people died, 60 injured in Afghanistan earthquake

Powerful 5.5 magnitude earthquake occurred in Afghanistan, near Kabul. The earthquake repeated in two hours, the agency reports citing television channel Vesti.

Almaty. April 17. Kazakhstan Today - Powerful 5.5 magnitude earthquake occurred in Afghanistan, near Kabul. The earthquake repeated in two hours, the agency reports citing television channel Vesti.

40 people have died and more than 60 people have been injured. Hundreds houses have been destroyed. The authorities do not exclude possibility that quantity of victims can grow.

The earthquakes in Hindu Kush region are not a rarity. 74 thousand people died in October, 2005 as a result of 7.6 magnitude earthquake in the northwest of Pakistan.
