Almaty police detained three people: two hospitalized after interrogations
Almaty. May 14. Kazakhstan Today - Last week the police of Almaty detained three people without explanations, two of whom after interrogations have been hospitalized, the agency reports.
Two of arrested people are the employees of the independent broadcasting company KTK - Ivan Likhouzov and Vitaly Piskunov, the third - the employee of the guard service of the President, Nurlan Sarypbekov.
I. Likhouzov was detained in the morning on May 10. Five unknown people, two of whom were in masks, have violently made him get on the automobile and drove him away. Only in the evening it was found out that they were the policemen who had arrested Lihouzov for interrogation as a witness. After interrogation in the police Likhouzov was hospitalized being in a serious condition.
N. Sarypbekov was also detained by unknown people in masks and taken away in the unknown direction on May 10. It became known that the employee of the guard's service of the President, who recently was a guard of Dariga Nazarbayeva, the Majilis deputy, was detained by the specialized fast-response unit employees. After interrogation N. Sarypbekov was taken to hospital.
In both cases the people were arrested by the police without any warning. Neither of them received subpoena.
One more person, KTK TV channel office-manager, Vitaly Piskunov was arrested in his house by specialized fast-response unit employees on May 9. He is still under arrest. Neither lawyers, nor physicians are allowed to visit him. There is information that he has been severely beaten.

Second wave of floods hits N Kazakhstan region
Due to the second wave of flooding, water level rose again with the overflow at 278 centimeters having increased by 21 centimeters," Kanat Duzelbayev said.
A number of villages in Kyzylzhar district and micro-districts Podgora, Kozhevenny, Zarechny, Kossogor are still under water, with 2,886 residential buildings affected by the flood. A total of 14,388 people have been evacuated in the region, with 1,037 accommodated in temporary shelters. All of them are provided with meals and essential supplies. 149 families have already received lump-sum social payment. 470 tons of humanitarian aid were sent to the region from Astana, Almaty, East Kazakhstan, Kyzylorda, Zhambyl, Pavlodar, and Akmola regions, as well as from Russia’s Omsk," said Duzelbayev.
