Death toll in Cina earthquake exceeded 60 thousand

The Prime Minister of the State Council of the Peoples Republic of China Wen Jabao informed on Saturday that death toll in China with epicenter in Wenchuan district, Sichuan Province in the southwest of China has exceeded 60 thousand people, the agency reports referring to Xinhua News Agency.

Kazakhstan Today - The Prime Minister of the State Council of the Peoples Republic of China Wen Jabao informed on Saturday that death toll in China with epicenter in Wenchuan district, Sichuan Province in the southwest of China has exceeded 60 thousand people, the agency reports referring to Xinhua News Agency.

According to Wen Jabao, approximately 30 thousand people have been registered as missing; nearly 300 thousand have been injured.

As it was informed earlier, Kazakhstan will render humanitarian aid to China. The Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Karim Masimov informed on Friday during the meeting with the Ambassador of the Peoples Republic of China in Kazakhstan Chan Siun.

The Prime Minister expressed sincere sympathy on occasion of the destructive earthquake occurred in the Peoples Republic of China and sent the Ambassador the letter with condolences to the Chinese people and the relatives of victims and wishes of soon recover to all injured from this natural disaster.

The Ministry of Health of Kazakhstan will send medical products as humanitarian help to the Peoples Republic of China. The Ministry of Transport of Kazakhstan will provide rolling stock for transportation of humanitarian cargo to the Peoples Republic of China. The Ministry of Emergency of Kazakhstan as the humanitarian help will direct food stuffs, tents, warm clothes and articles of prime necessity for the sum of more than 433 million KZT.

As it was informed earlier, 7.8 magnitude earthquake in the Chinese province Sichuan occurred on May 12.
