Repeated earth tremors struck Sichuan province
Almaty. May 16. Kazakhstan Today - Repeated earth tremors struck the city of Inyu, district Wenchuan, province Sichuan most destroyed region as a result of the recent earthquake, the agency reports referring to news agency RosBusinessConsulting.
It was 5-6.1 magnitude earthquake by Richter scale. Seismologists registered only 18 tremors.
According to Xinhua News Agency, as a result of seismic activity of the nearby mountains stones rolled down having destroyed a number of houses.
As it was informed earlier, 7.8 magnitude earthquake, by Richter scale, struck the southwest of China in the morning of May 12. The epicenter of tremors was in Wenchuan district at the depth of 29 kilometers and in 92 kilometers to the northwest from the administrative centre of Sichuan province, Chengdu city. This earthquake became the most powerful in this area for the last 32 years and has caused significant destructions in the area close to the epicenter.
Death toll during earthquake in the southwest of China has reached 14 thousand 866 people. Tens of thousands of people still remain trapped under rubble.

Second wave of floods hits N Kazakhstan region
Due to the second wave of flooding, water level rose again with the overflow at 278 centimeters having increased by 21 centimeters," Kanat Duzelbayev said.
A number of villages in Kyzylzhar district and micro-districts Podgora, Kozhevenny, Zarechny, Kossogor are still under water, with 2,886 residential buildings affected by the flood. A total of 14,388 people have been evacuated in the region, with 1,037 accommodated in temporary shelters. All of them are provided with meals and essential supplies. 149 families have already received lump-sum social payment. 470 tons of humanitarian aid were sent to the region from Astana, Almaty, East Kazakhstan, Kyzylorda, Zhambyl, Pavlodar, and Akmola regions, as well as from Russia’s Omsk," said Duzelbayev.
