A number of bilateral agreements signed during French PM visit to Kazakhstan

A number of bilateral agreements have been signed during the official visit of the Prime Minister of France Francois Fillon to Kazakhstan, the agency reports.

Astana. February 8. Kazakhstan Today - A number of bilateral agreements have been signed during the official visit of the Prime Minister of France Francois Fillon to Kazakhstan, the agency reports.

The leaders of the governments of Kazakhstan and France Karim Masimov and Francois Fillon signed declarations on intentions on strategic partnership between the governments of two countries.

The agreements on the international automobile transportations of cargoes, on mutual maintenance of safety of the classified information, and the declaration on intentions for cooperation in the field of tourism have been signed.

The parties accepted the commercial agreement. The memorandum of mutual understanding between Ust-Kamenogorsk titan magnesium industrial complex and companies EADS, Ober, Duval and Arzor was signed. Potential cost of the memorandum makes about $1 billion.

France is the fifth among foreign trading partners of Kazakhstan after Russia, Italy, Switzerland and China. According to Kazakhstan Statistics Agency, in 2007 volume of mutual commerce between Kazakhstan and France made $4.68 billion.

By volumes of investments France is the fourth after the Netherlands, the USA and the Great Britain. As of October of 2007, total amount of French investments into economy of Kazakhstan made $3.7 billion. Kazakhstan capital investments in the French economy make more than $260 million.
