Today the Czech Republic for our country is an important partner in the European Union. Czech Republic is one of the few countries that has kept the stability of its financial system in conditions of severe economic crisis. Our countries have complementary economies. Thus, Kazakhstan resources and Czech engineering technology could together work on the development of mutually beneficial cooperation. Peoples of our countries join close historical ties and the general direction of modern development. We spent largely similar economic reform over the past decade. Czech experience in this field is interesting for Kazakhstan," the President of Kazakhstan noted.

"In Kazakhstan, there are about 20 representatives of Czech companies and 76 joint ventures. This meeting will give new impetus to the development of cooperation between our countries. We intend to bring the trade turnover between Kazakhstan and the Czech Republic up to $ 1 billion. In the present time our country is implementing the Industrial Innovation Program, and we invite Czech companies to participate in its implementation. Tomorrow a business forum will take place in which dozens of new commercial projects worth more than $ 250 million to be signed. That will greatly expand the interstate cooperation. I'm sure that my current visit will strengthen the partnership between our two countries," said Nursultan Nazarbayev.

He concluded that Kazakhstan has created an exclusive preference for investors in terms of innovation and industry, the press service said.

V. Klaus, in his turn, said that the visit of the President of Kazakhstan is of great strategic importance for the development of relations between the two countries.

"Since our last bilateral meeting in 2004, enough time has passed, and it is obvious that there is a need to continue the negotiations. We consider Kazakhstan as the strategic partner and are interested in enhancing cooperation. We are dedicated to the development of economic relations - today there is a great potential for growth. Kazakhstan is a rapidly growing country, and I am confident that our relationship will only grow," V. Klaus stated.
