"Unfortunately, as of today, there is a delay in the schedule of realization of construction investment projects in Georgia, however, this situation is not unique for Georgia," Y. Ashikbayev said.

"The delay of investments is connected with the negative consequences of the world financial crisis. "Kazakhstan investors are holding the negotiations concerning these projects with the Georgian authorities," Y. Ashikbayev informed. He said that "rejection of these projects is out of the question. It is a question of postponing the date of their execution."

"As for investment and trade and economic cooperation, Kazakhstan still remains the largest investor in the economy of Georgia," the official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.
