Kazakhstan plans to create new Assistance Program to Afghanistan

Kazakhstan plans to accept the new Assistance Program to Afghanistan for 2009 - 2011 in 2009. Vice Minister of Defense of Kazakhstan, Bulat Sembinov, informed today during the Third Security Forum of Euro-Atlantic Partnership Council (EAPC), the agency reports.

Astana. June 25. Kazakhstan Today - Kazakhstan plans to accept the new Assistance Program to Afghanistan for 2009 - 2011 in 2009. Vice Minister of Defense of Kazakhstan, Bulat Sembinov, informed today during the Third Security Forum of Euro-Atlantic Partnership Council (EAPC), the agency reports.

"Kazakhstan plans to create the new program for 2009 - 2011, which will include the projects in the field of development of infrastructure, energy, training and re-training of manpower," B. Sembinov informed.

The previous Assistance Program to Afghanistan for 2007 - 2008 has been completed. "$3 million has been allocated for construction of a highway, a school, a hospital and transportation of wheat," he specified.

B. Sembinov informed, "The Ministry of Defense has begun the work on carrying out of the interstate procedures connected with sending officers to the staff of the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) in Kabul."
