Astana. June 26. Kazakhstan Today - NATO does not know how to develop further. Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to NATO, Dmitry Rogozhin, stated in the interview to the journalists during the Third Security Forum of Euro-Atlantic Partnership Council (EAPC) in Astana, the agency reports.

"The process of expansion of NATO has stopped," D. Rogozin declared.

"The program 'Partnership for the Sake of Peace' has been initiated for "pulling the states into NATO. "The program 'Partnership for the Sake of Peace' is a sort of a 'waiting room'. Those who wished to join it have already joined it. But I cannot say that something will occur in the near future ... I doubt, it is impossible," he said.

NATO Secretary General, Jaap de Hoop Sheffer, said in the interview to the journalists that the states of the Central-Asian region should decide themselves how to build relations with the international organizations. "NATO holds this forum in Kazakhstan not to compete with someone. We want the states of this region independently decide what relations and with whom they wish to have," he said.
