Almaty. June 10. Kazakhstan Today - The participants of Food Summit in Rome approved final Declaration, having promised to carry out a lot of urgent and long-term measures of reaction to world food crisis, the agency reports referring to the UN news center.

It contains proposals in the field of rendering food aid, social protection, development of agriculture, adaptation in conditions of climate change, and the recommendation on studying the influence of manufacture of bio fuel on food safety.

The Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator John Holmes has informed journalists that the summit participants have reached consensus on three key questions: necessity to make active urgent humanitarian help to the countries most affected by sharp increase of prices of food stuffs; to reduce restrictions on export of foodstuffs, first of all for humanitarian purposes; and to expand scales of investments into agriculture.

John Holmes noted that a number of states including Ukraine and Kazakhstan have promised to increase export of agricultural production. Delegations of 180 countries took part in the summit. More than 40 of them have been presented at the level of the leaders of the states and governments.
