Kazakhstan’s Ambassador, Madi Atamkulov, participated in the "CEE - Western Balkans Energy, Infrastructure & Industrial Security Forum 2026," organized by the Serbian Chamber of Commerce and the General Confederation of Italian Industry for Eastern Europe. In his welcoming address to the forum participants, the Kazakh diplomat highlighted the potential of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan reports.
He emphasized the geopolitical and geo-economic advantages of this route, the dynamics of increasing freight transportation, as well as the efforts of the Kazakh side to enhance its capacity.
The forum also featured a panel discussion titled "Adriatic - Black Sea - Central Asia Corridor," with the participation of Mr. Zhivs, Director of Trading and Logistics at KMG International. He presented the audience with trends in the oil market and Kazakhstan’s role in maintaining Europe’s energy security.
The event was opened by Serbia’s Prime Minister Maсut, and was attended by major energy companies from Italy, Serbia, Croatia, Bulgaria, Romania, Hungary, and Greece, along with representatives from European financial institutions.

On the margins of the Global Climate Fund & Friends of GGGI Conference, Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Republic of Korea Asset Issenali met with Ban Ki-moon, President of the Assembly and Chair of the Council of the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI), Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan reports.
During the meeting, the parties discussed key issues on the international climate agenda, the promotion of sustainable development principles, and the strengthening of multilateral cooperation aimed at ensuring sustainable and inclusive economic growth.
Special attention was paid to Kazakhstan’s cooperation with GGGI and prospects for expanding joint efforts to advance initiatives in green development, climate resilience, and the introduction of modern environmental solutions.
The parties confirmed their readiness to continue close cooperation and Kazakhstan’s active engagement in GGGI’s activities aimed at supporting countries in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, mobilizing climate finance, and promoting long-term models of economic growth.
The Kazakh diplomat emphasized Kazakhstan’s consistent commitment to the principles of sustainable development and the ecological modernization of the economy. It was noted that Kazakhstan views green transformation not only as an environmental objective, but also as an important factor in enhancing competitiveness, attracting investment, and improving the quality of life of its citizens.
Kazakhstan’s participation in GGGI events reflects the country’s aspiration to make a practical contribution to international efforts to protect the environment and build a sustainable future for the next generations.

Kazakhstan and Canada Expand Cooperation in Higher Education and Workforce Development

A roundtable discussion titled "Kazakhstan-Canada Dialogue on Higher Education and Workforce Development" was held at the University of Toronto, organized by the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Canada, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan reports.
The event brought together representatives from leading academic and research institutions, including the University of Toronto, Ontario Tech University, Toronto Metropolitan University, York University, Queen’s University, Humber Polytechnic, George Brown College, Cambrian College, MITACS and others, as well as representatives of the Government of Ontario and members of the expert community.
Kazakhstan’s Ambassador to Canada, Dauletbek Kussainov, noted that Kazakhstan continues to strengthen its position as a regional academic and research hub in Eurasia by actively developing international partnerships, joint educational programs, and scientific cooperation. The Ambassador placed particular emphasis on workforce training for strategically important sectors of the economy, including mining, energy, agriculture, and artificial intelligence.
Muslim Khassenov, Associate Professor at Maqsut Narikbayev University and Visiting Scholar at Harvard University provided an overview of ongoing reforms in Kazakhstan’s higher education and science sectors, highlighting the development of international academic partnerships and new approaches to the internationalization of higher education.
During the discussions, Michelle Beaton, Director of International Relations at the University of Toronto, noted the steady progress in academic ties between Kazakhstan and Canada, including the implementation of joint educational initiatives, research collaboration, and the participation of Canadian faculty members in educational programs at Kazakhstani universities.
Shauna Garrett, Director of International Education at Ontario Tech University, emphasized the strong potential for cooperation in training specialists for high-tech industries, particularly in engineering, digital technologies, and nuclear energy, taking into account Kazakhstan’s plans to build a nuclear power plants.
Overall, the event demonstrated the mutual interest of Kazakhstan and Canada in expanding cooperation in higher education and workforce development for the economy of the future.

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Yermukhambet Konuspayev received copies of credentials from the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Moldova to the Republic of Kazakhstan Igor Moldovan, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan reports.
During the meeting, the parties discussed prospects for further strengthening bilateral cooperation in the political, trade-economic, and cultural-humanitarian spheres, as well as the upcoming schedule of bilateral events.

Kazakhstan and Kenya sign documents following high-level talks in Astana

Presidents of Kazakhstan and Kenya Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and William Ruto adopted a joint statement following the high-level talks on Wednesday, Qazinform News Agency cites Akorda.
Both sides’ official delegates exchanged the following documents in the presence of the heads of state:
- Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Ministry of Information, Communications and Digital Economy of the Republic of Kenya on cooperation in the field of ICT and e-government;
- Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Ministry of Roads and Transport of the Republic of Kenya;
- Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Tourism and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Ministry of Tourism and Wildlife of the Republic of Kenya;
- Cooperation Agreement between Samruk-Kazyna JSC and the National Mining Corporation (NAMICO);
- Memorandum of Understanding in the field of Earth remote sensing, development of space systems, and application of space technologies between Kazakhstan Gharysh Sapary and the Kenya Space Agency;
- Memorandum of Understanding between the Astana International Financial Centre and the Nairobi International Financial Centre.
During the state visit of the President of Kenya, the following documents were also signed:
- Memorandum of Cooperation between the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Foreign Service Academy of the Republic of Kenya;
- Memorandum of Understanding between the Kazakhstan Foreign Trade Chamber and the Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry;
- Memorandum of Understanding between Kazakh Invest and the Kenya Investment Authority;
- Memorandum of Understanding between the QazTrade Trade Policy Development Center and the Kenya Export Promotion and Branding Agency.

Kenyan President Ruto hails Kazakhstan as key logistics hub during narrow-format talks with Tokayev

The Presidents of Kazakhstan and Kenya, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and William Ruto, have held talks in a narrow format in Astana, Qazinform News Agency cites Akorda.
The Kazakh leader commended William Ruto for his visit and for bringing a large business delegation to Astana.
I consider this a clear testament to your firm commitment to strengthening cooperation between our countries. Kenya is a very important partner for us in Africa. We regard your state as one of the most economically and politically developed on the continent and are sincerely glad of the opportunity to give a new impetus to our multifaceted interaction. I am confident that we have all the opportunities to move forward successfully. Today, we intend to discuss the prospects for bilateral economic and humanitarian cooperation. Nairobi is deservedly recognized as an international hub on the African continent, permanently hosting United Nations system organizations. In this regard, Kazakhstan has made the decision to open our embassy in Nairobi, said Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
In turn, the President of Kenya noted that he views Kazakhstan as an important logistics hub for the development of trade and investment.
We are already witnessing growing trade between our nations. For us, Kazakhstan is the gateway to Eurasia - a massive market that holds immense potential for our primary agricultural exports. The agreements we are signing today will provide the necessary legal foundation to unlock new avenues for partnership, said President William Ruto.

Diplomats from OSCE Member States Discuss Prospects for Cooperation in Astana

A delegation of Permanent Representatives of United Kingdom, Germany, Italy, Canada, France, the Netherlands, and the United States to the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) paid a visit to Astana, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan reports.
During the meeting at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan the parties discussed cooperation within the OSCE framework and prospects for further cooperation.
Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Arman Issetov noted: "Kazakhstan’s cooperation with the OSCE is built on a solid foundation of mutual respect, trust, and a shared commitment to the values of security, sustainable development, and human rights".
He further emphasized that Kazakhstan is ready to continue mutually beneficial engagement with the Organization’s member states across all three dimensions of the OSCE.
In turn, the foreign ambassadors noted that Kazakhstan is an important member of the Organization, and highlighted the high level of cooperation among the countries within the OSCE framework.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the parties reaffirmed their commitment to advancing pragmatic and mutually acceptable cooperation.

Kazakhstan and Denmark Expand Partnership in the Mining Industry

Chairman of the Investment Committee of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Gabidulla Ospankulov held a meeting with CEO of the Danish company FLSmidth Toni Laaksonen, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan reports.
During the talks, the parties reviewed prospects for further deepening cooperation with one of the leading international engineering companies in the mining and cement industries.
The parties also discussed the implementation of the company’s project to expand its service center in Karaganda, aimed at modernizing and significantly amplifying service infrastructure for mining enterprises in Kazakhstan and Central Asia. The total investment volume amounts to approximately 15 million US dollars.
Chairman Ospankulov noted that the project is regarded as an example of long-term industrial partnership focused on equipment supply, production localization, and transfer of modern technologies.
Discussing the upcoming opening of the company’s service center, the interlocutors highlighted the wide range of services to be provided, including manufacturing and refurbishment of equipment components, repair and modernization of mining equipment, assembly and maintenance of units and components, as well as engineering and technical support for mining and metallurgical enterprises.
Following the meeting, the parties confirmed their mutual interest in continuing the dialogue and further expanding mutually beneficial cooperation.
