President of Iran confirmed his participation in SCO summit in Dushanbe

The President of Islamic Republic of Iran, Mahmud Ahmadinejad, confirmed his participation in the summit of the leaders of the state-participants of Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) in Dushanbe. The leader of Iran said to the Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan, Hamrohon Zarifi, during the official visit of the Minister Tajikistan to Iran, the agency reports referring to Asia Plus agency.

The leader of Iran said to the Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan, Hamrohon Zarifi, during the official visit of the Minister Tajikistan to Iran, the agency reports referring to Asia Plus agency.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan, at the meeting they parties discussed questions of bilateral cooperation and cooperation of two countries within the international organizations, as well as safety issues.

During the talks the President of Iran expressed gratitude to the leadership of Tajikistan for support and confirmed his participation as the observer at the meeting of the leaders of SCO member states, which will take place on August, 28 in Dushanbe, as well as at the meeting of the leaders of the states of Tajikistan, Iran and Afghanistan, which will be held after SCO summit.

The Minister of Tajik Foreign Ministry informed the President of Iran on the measures being undertaken by Tajikistan on expansion and strengthening of bilateral cooperation and the prospects of mutual relations in a tripartite format, including the neighboring state - Afghanistan.
