Russia and China signed protocol defining border line between the countries

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation and the Peoples Republic of China signed the additional protocol defining the border line between the countries along Amur River in Beijing, the agency reports referring to RosBusinessConsulting (RBC).

Almaty. July 21. Kazakhstan Today - The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation and the Peoples Republic of China signed the additional protocol defining the border line between the countries along Amur River in Beijing, the agency reports referring to RosBusinessConsulting (RBC).

According to RBC, the Ministers for Foreign Affairs of Russia, Sergey Lavrov, and China, signed the additional protocol defining the line of the Russian-Chinese frontier along Amur River in Beijing. This document has allowed to complete legal registration of the common border and to eliminate all problems of boundary delimitation, negotiations on which have lasted for more than 40 years.

During this time the frontier line on its east relative to four islands on Amur was uncertain. According to S. Lavrov, owing to the work done by both parties, the boundary issues unresolved since the Soviet Union time with China have been solved.

According to Chinese newspaper China Daily, after 40 years of negotiations Russia will return to China frontier territory of 174 square kilometers.
