Criminal proceedings instituted against Nurbank Chairman

Almaty. February 21. Kazakhstan Today - A number of criminal proceedings have been instituted against ex-Nurbank Chairman Abilmazhen Gilimov. Yrysbek Isayev, the chief of the department of investigation of economic and financial crimes of the department on struggle against economic and corruption criminality in Almaty informed the agency.

"Two criminal cases have been instituted against A. Gilimov. The first - according to the clause 228 - power abuse, the head of investigatory-operative group informed. According to Y. Isayev, "by direct instruction of Gilimov the apartments that were security property of the bank had been sold at the understated prices." According to the inspector, "this caused material damage to Nurbank and its affiliated companies."

The second criminal case has been instituted on clause 28, part 4 and clause 307, part 2 - instigation to official power abuse.

Financial police has instituted criminal case on the fact of creation of fraud enterprises. "Within the limits of this criminal case the question of Timraliyev, former vice-president of Nurbank board, participation is being investigated," Y. Isayev said.

Yesterday, Yerlan Turgumbayev, the chief of the department of internal affairs of Almaty informed at press conference that the police have not established Z. Timraliyev's whereabouts. Operatively investigatory group has been created headed by the employee of the criminal police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
