Almaty. September 23. Kazakhstan Today - The Organization of Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) is ready to give Ukraine a special status and to consider if necessary the question of accepting this country into membership of this organization. The CSTO Secretary General, Nikolay Bordyuzha, informed in ITAR-TASS interview.

"We are ready to closely cooperate with Ukraine in security issues. Moreover, if Ukrain is ready, it can receive special status at CSTO." "It is useful and objective, as the states of the post-Soviet territory, face the same problems. To solve them, we can participate in joint events not even having Ukraine join CSTO," the CSTO Secretary General explained.

As for the possible introduction, N. Bordyuzha said "it an absolutely voluntary decision. "Ukraine is a sovereign state, which can decide what security system it wants to be with: CSTO, the NATO or any other," N. Bordyuzha said.
