Government considers mass lay off of state employees

The government of Kazakhstan is considering mass lay off of state employees. The Prime Minister of Kazakhstan, Karim Masimov, informed today at the expanded meeting of faction of the People's Democratic Party Nur Otan in Majilis of Parliament, the agency reports.

Astana. June 22. Kazakhstan Today - The government of Kazakhstan is considering mass lay off of state employees. The Prime Minister of Kazakhstan, Karim Masimov, informed today at the expanded meeting of faction of the People's Democratic Party Nur Otan in Majilis of Parliament, the agency reports.

"There are some questions we need to make decisions about before we lift moratorium on employment in public organizations ... Civil service should incur some costs as well as the whole community as we all live at the expense of the budget money," K. Masimov said.

"Now the government is considering mass lay off of public employees. In other words, we will cancel all vacant positions and will lay off some people," he informed.

As informed earlier, Majilismen, Murat Abenov, stated an inquiry of a group of Majilis deputies, which offers to cancel moratorium on employment of public employees on June 17, 2009 at the plenary session of Majilis of Parliament of Kazakhstan.
