Kazakh PM met with Premier of State Council of China

Akhmetov and W.Jiabao discussed the issues regarding development of the Kazakh-Chinese cooperation within the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.

Almaty. December 6. Kazakhstan Today - Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Serik Akhmetov had a meeting with Premier of the State Council of the People's Republic of China Wen Jiabao on the sidelines of the session of the SCO Prime Ministers' Council.

According to the Prime Minister's official website, S.Akhmetov and W.Jiabao discussed the issues regarding development of the Kazakh-Chinese cooperation within the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.

The interlocutors also exchanged views on the topical issues of bilateral trade and economic cooperation. W.Jiabao extended greetings to President N.Nazarbayev from President Hu Jintao and Secretary General of the Central Committee of the CPC Xi Jinping.

"Kazakhstan and China enjoy close contacts for many years. I would like to place special emphasis on the business and friendly relations of the heads of our countries," W.Jiabao said at the meeting.

"China's new leaders will continue pursuing the policies aimed at strengthening of our bilateral relations," the Chinese Premier added.

Speaking of the strengthening of trade and economic contacts, S.Akhmetov, in his turn, emphasized the necessity to maintain positive trends in the trade turnover ensuring its growth to 40 billion U.S. dollars by 2015.

S.Akhmetov and W.Jiabao also addressed the issues regarding interaction in the sphere of transport, energy sector and oil and gas sector.
