Kazakh President promises to accept referendum's decision

The President of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev, promises to accept the decision made by the referendum concerning extending his presidential term, taking into account the interests of the people and the state, the president's press service reports.

Astana. January 21. Kazakhstan Today - The President of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev, promises to accept the decision made by the referendum concerning extending his presidential term, taking into account the interests of the people and the state, the president's press service reports.

N. Nazarbayev said that the question of carrying out of a referendum is the question of the will of the Kazakhstan people. "I am proud that this initiative has been supported and more than five millions signatures have been collected. This national initiative has been supported by parties, public associations, non-governmental organizations, and Kazakhstan citizens all over the country. No state politician can ignore will of people," the head of state said.

"For me this question is very important. Therefore, having looked at all pro's and con's, considering the interests of the people and the state, I will accept the decision necessary for the people of our country."

According to the press service, the President also discussed the questions concerning celebration of the 20th anniversary of Independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
