Kazakhstan is satisfied with results of CSTO cooperation - Nazarbayev

Kazakhstan is satisfied with the results of cooperation within the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO). The President of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev, said during the session of CSTO Collective Security Council taken place in Moscow Friday, the agency reports referring to the president's press service.

Astana. September 8. Kazakhstan Today - Kazakhstan is satisfied with the results of cooperation within the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO). The President of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev, said during the session of CSTO Collective Security Council taken place in Moscow Friday, the agency reports referring to the president's press service.

"Kazakhstan as a whole is satisfied with the results of cooperation within the organization," N. Nazarbayev noted and expressed confidence that decisions made at this session have become important contribution to strengthening of regional safety.

According to the press service, the session participants held constructive dialogue concerning development of the situation in the zone of CSTO responsibility and measures on neutralization of challenges and threats of collective safety - first of all in the sphere of struggle with modern challenges and threats.

"The leaders of CSTO member states discussed various aspects of cooperation and development of the organization, including the results of realization of decisions of Minsk (2006) and Dushanbe (2007) sessions of Collective Security Council. The session participants made a number of important decisions providing strengthening of potential CSTO in struggle against terrorism and coordination of foreign policy activity of the member states of the organization.

According to the press service, during the session the participants adopted declaration reflecting opinion of CSTO member states on the main issues of international security as well as vision of the organization on solution of these issues.

The leaders of the states signed the Agreement on professional training for law-enforcement, fire-prevention, rescue bodies and special services of CSTO member states: the Program of joint actions on formation of the system of information safety of CSTO member states, the Plan of joined actions of CSTO member states on realization of Global counterterrorist strategy of the United Nations for 2008 - 2012, and Regulations on the order of development, financing and realization of target interstate programs of the organization.
