Astana. June 5. Kazakhstan Today - The chairman of the National Bank of Kazakhstan, Grigory Marchenko, reported the President of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev, on the macroeconomic situation in the country, the agency reports citing the president's press service.

According to the press service, G. Marchenko informed N. Nazarbayev on the work of the National Bank regarding control over inflationary processes and the exchange rate policy.

"Inflation for the last 12 months has decreased by 8.5 %. It is by 2.5 times lower than last year. As a whole, the tendencies continue to remain positive."

"The head of the state noted that the decision on devaluation of tenge was made duly and was correct," the press service informs.

"The President of Kazakhstan requested to pay attention to the measures we can undertake to restore trust to the banking sector and realization of financing of the new industrialization programs," the chairman of the National Bank informed.
