NATO to organize joint exercises with Russia

The NATO plans to invite the Russian military men not only as observers of the exercises of the North Atlantic Alliance forces, near the borders of Russia, but also as participants. The Supreme Allied Commander Europe (SACEUR) Admiral James Stavridis informed at a meeting with the Commander of Armies of the Western District Army Colonel General Arcady Bahin, the agency reports citing ITAR-TASS.

Kazakhstan Today - The NATO plans to invite the Russian military men not only as observers of the exercises of the North Atlantic Alliance forces, near the borders of Russia, but also as participants. The Supreme Allied Commander Europe (SACEUR) Admiral James Stavridis informed at a meeting with the Commander of Armies of the Western District Army Colonel General Arcady Bahin, the agency reports citing ITAR-TASS.

"The parties touched upon the questions of interest for both - the NATO countries and Russia: drug addiction, struggle against terrorism, cyber safety, and overcoming of the consequences of the world financial crisis."

D. Stavridis held meetings with the Minister of Defence of the Russian Federation, Anatoly Serdyukov, and the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, Nikolay Makarov in Moscow. The Supreme Commander in Chief of the Supreme Allied Armed Forces in Europe met the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Sergey Lavrov. The officials discussed the questions of carrying out of the summit of the Russia-NATO Council in Lisbon on November 19-20.
