According to the press service, the President observed a minute of silence in memory of the Kazakhstan soldiers who gave their lives for the sake of peace and the future of the state.

After the official ceremony, N. Nazarbayev congratulated the war veterans on the 65th anniversary of victory in the Great Patriotic War and wished them sound health and well-being.

The Prime Minister of Kazakhstan, Karim Masimov, the chairmen of Majilis and the Senate of Parliament of Kazakhstan, Kasym-Zhomart Tokaev and Ural Muhamedzhanov, the head of the President's Administration, Aslan Musin, the government members, the Parliament deputies, and the heads of Nur Otan Party took part in the solemn ceremony.
