President of Kazakhstan awarded Peace Medal

The Board of Directors of the Institute of East-West made the unanimous decision to award the Peace Medal of 2009 to the President of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev, the agency reports citing the president's press service.

Astana. June 10. Kazakhstan Today - The Board of Directors of the Institute of East-West made the unanimous decision to award the Peace Medal of 2009 to the President of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev, the agency reports citing the president's press service.

According to the press service, the head of the state met the co-chairman of Institute of East-West, Armen Sarkisyan. He informed N. Nazarbayev that the Board of Directors of the Institute of East-West made the unanimous decision to award Peace Medal of 2009 to the President of Kazakhstan.

The Peace Medal has been rewarded in different years to such politicians, as the Prime Minister of Great Britain, Tony Blair, ex-Presidents of Finland, Marti Ahtissari, and the USA, George Bush-senior.
