President's Commission on Prevention of Weapons of Mass Destruction began to work in Kazakhstan

The first session of the President's Commission on Prevention of Weapons of Mass Destruction was held today in Akorda. It was created on January 11 by the decree of the head of state, the agency reports.

According to the chairman of the commission, the Secretary of State - Minister for Foreign Affairs, Kanat Saudabaev, this fact that the President accepted the decision on creation of the commission during the presidency of Kazakhstan in one of the authoritative international organizations - OSCE is symbolical.

"The fact that the head of state has created such special commission once again demonstrates that Kazakhstan shows leadership in non-proliferation world process," K. Saudabaev underlined." "One more evidence of this is that the President of Kazakhstan received personal invitation from the American President Barrack Obama to participate in the work of the summit."

The session participants will discuss the questions of preparation of participation of the Kazakhstan delegations in the forthcoming summit in Washington.
