Astana. July 11. Kazakhstan Today - Kazakhstan Prime Minister, Karim Masimov, charged the Ministry for Energy and Mineral Resources to work over the question of provision with necessary fuel for reconstruction of Astana - Shuchinsk highway, the agency reports.

"The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources needs to work over the question connected with maintenance of fuel for construction of the road," K. Masimov said at the meeting devoted to realization of civil-engineering design of highway Astana - Shuchinsk.

"According to the assignment of the Prime Minister given in July, 2007, along with the Committee for construction of the Ministry of Industry and Commerce recalculation of the design-budget documentation has been carried out and cost of the project has been increased," the Minister explained. However, as he said, "sharp increase of prices in the second quarter of 2008 for diesel oil, road bitumen and metal, which exceed the planned cost twice, affect contract works."

"There is also deficit of diesel oil. Today about 200 tons of diesel fuel is necessary daily for normal work to finish the object on time. 30 thousand tons of diesel fuel is needed for realization of the whole project," S. Ahmetov said.
