Astana interreligious dialogue to create new form of global relations of conventional faiths

Astana the 'Dialogue of Confessions' is aimed at promoting creation of the new form of global relations of conventional faiths. The Speaker of the Senate of the Parliament of Kazakhstan, Kasym-Zhomart Tokayev, stated today during VIII session of the Secretariat of Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions, the agency reports.

Astana. June 29. Kazakhstan Today - Astana the 'Dialogue of Confessions' is aimed at promoting creation of the new form of global relations of conventional faiths. The Speaker of the Senate of the Parliament of Kazakhstan, Kasym-Zhomart Tokayev, stated today during VIII session of the Secretariat of Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions, the agency reports.

"The theme of the plenary session of the next congress will be 'Role of Religious Leaders in Construction of the World Based on Tolerance, Mutual Respect and Cooperation'. We recognize that globalization is one of the most effective factors influencing further development of the modern civilization. World religions are involved in this process. Astana 'Dialogue of Confessions' is aimed at creating of the new form of global relations of conventional faiths," K. Tokayev said, opening the session.

According to the Speaker of the Senate, the congress participants will discuss three thematic blocks defined during VII session of the Secretariat of the congress taken place in October, 2008 in Almaty: 'Moral and cultural wealth, World ethics, Dialogue and cooperation and Solidarity, especially in the period of crises'."

"Such format will allow religious leaders exchanging opinions on actual problems of the present, stating their visions of interconfessional concord in some of the countries and regions, and assessing and making recommendations in this direction."
