Booster rocket Zenith-3SLB, Israeli satellite Amos-3 launched from Baikonur

The booster rocket Zenith-3SLB with the Israeli satellite Amos-3 was successfully launched from Baikonur, the agency reports referring to the source at the cosmodrome.

Baikonur. April 29. Kazakhstan Today - The booster rocket Zenith-3SLB with the Israeli satellite Amos-3 was successfully launched from Baikonur, the agency reports referring to the source at the cosmodrome.

The space vehicle Amos-3 has been launched to the basic orbit with the planned parameters.

The booster rocket was launched at 11.00 Astana time (9.00 Moscow time) from a launcher of the starting complex of the platform №45 and took place in a regular mode.

According to the flight cyclogram, the space vehicle Amos-3 with the booster block DM-3SLB was separated from the last step of the carrier rocket and was launched to the basic orbit with the planned parameters.

As it was informed earlier, the launch of the booster rocket Zenith-3SLB with the space vehicle Amos-3 was planned for April 24, but did not take place for technical reasons. The launch of Zenith was postponed for the reserve day, April 26 and then appointed for April 28.

The space vehicle Amos-3 will replace in the orbit the device Amos-1 launched in 1996. Amos-3 will expand cover zone of retransmitters of Qu-range, will provide high-quality communication and broadband data transmission on the territory of the Near East, Europe, Africa, and some areas of the Northern and South America.

The launch of satellite Amos-3 is devoted to the 60th anniversary of formation of the Israeli state. In commemoration of this event there will be an official trade mark of the 60th anniversary of Israel on the booster rocket Zenith.
