Brain drain in Kazakhstan - deterrent to social and economic development of the country

Astana. June 25. Kazakhstan Today - The outflow of highly skilled manpower is deterrent to social and economic development of the country. The head of the OSCE Center in Astana, Alexander Kelchevsky, stated on Wednesday at the international conference on strengthening of the regional and interstate cooperation in social and labor affairs and migratory spheres for development, stability and security, the agency reports.

A. Kelchevsky said, "The Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe pays much attention to migration issues in the context of security and strengthening of cooperation with all the parties involved in this process."

"Clearly that uncontrollable streams of migration can lead to increase of intensity in the countries due to outflow of highly skilled experts, "brain drain", that is a deterrent to social and economic development of any country, including destination countries, due to political and social costs and illegal migration and integration," the head of the OSCE Center said.
