Carrier rocket Dnepr intended for launch of satellites RapidEye delivered to Baikonur

The carrier rocket Dnepr intended for launch of five German satellites RapidEye was delivered to Baikonur, the agency reports referring to a source at the cosmodrome.

Baikonur. July 16. Kazakhstan Today - The carrier rocket Dnepr intended for launch of five German satellites RapidEye was delivered to Baikonur, the agency reports referring to a source at the cosmodrome.

According to the source, the carrier rocket was delivered on July 15 by railway transportation to the station Tyura-Tam. After customs registration procedure the carrier rocket was transported to cosmodrome railway station to platform of the cosmodrome for launch preparation.

The representatives of the Canadian and British firms-customers with assistance of the experts of enterprises Roscosmos in the chambers of assembly testing house №40 on platform №31 of the cosmodrome are finishing preparation of the space vehicles RapidEye for launch.

Cluster launch of the carrier rocket Dnepr with five satellites RapidEye has been planned for the end of August.

The carrier rocket Dnepr (conversion modification of intercontinental ballistic missile РС-20) is intended for launch to the target orbit of five German satellites of remote sounding and monitoring of system RapidEye.
