HIV-contact children in South Kazakhstan tested

Shymkent. October 5. Kazakhstan Today - All HIV-contact children in the South Kazakhstan oblast have all been tested, the department on public relations of the regional department of public health services informed the agency.

According to department of public health services of South Kazakhstan, 9035 children living in the oblast have all been tested. There are left 1143 children on the list of HIV-contact children, 255 of whom together with their parents left the oblast. 173 children already died from diseases not connected with HIV-infection, 56 parents refused to test their children, 659 addresses of children are being searched.

As it was informed earlier, positive HIV-infection reaction has been revealed in 72 children, six of whom died, one has been adopted by the American citizens. Positive HIV-infection reaction has been revealed in eight mothers.
