Kazakhstan condemns North Korea nuclear tests - MFA

Astana. October 9. Kazakhstan Today - Kazakhstan condemns carrying out of nuclear tests by North Korea and considers this step erroneous, Kazakh MFA official representative Yerzhan Ashikbayev stated today at the traditional briefing in Astana.

"As the state that closed nuclear range and as the participant of the Nuclear Nonproliferation Treaty, Universal Nuclear Tests Ban Treaty and Nuclear Weapons Free Zone Treaty in Central Asia, the Republic Kazakhstan considers erroneous the decision of the Korean People's Democratic Republic to conduct the test of the nuclear weapon and condemns this action which was carried out on October 9, 2006," he told.

The representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs informed that Kazakhstan calls Northern Korea to renew negotiations on nuclear problem in a six-sided format with participation of China, Russia, the USA, South Korea and Japan and to refuse nuclear ambitions.
