Almaty. April 12. Kazakhstan Today - This year, Kazakhstan will conduct pilot two-stage Unified National Testing (UNT).

"This year, 32 schools in all 16 regions will hold pilot testing, which will not have any legal consequences. The goal of the experiment is to understand how children cope with the new format of testing ... The second stage of the testing for admission to a university will be held in a number of universities this autumn," Chairman of the Committee for control in the field of education and science of the Ministry of Education and Science of Kazakhstan Serik Irsaliyev said in an exclusive interview for the Prime Minister's official website.

He noted that the first stage of testing involves only the final examination, the results of which will be used for monitoring the quality of education in regions and particular schools. The second stage of testing is designed for matriculation at a higher educational institution.

It should be noted that the first stage of testing includes one general test of functional literacy and logic, and 5 blocks of tasks in five different disciplines that will change each year so that students study in all disciplines equally.

The second stage of testing consists of a logical test and two specialty examinations.

According to Irsaliyev, the issue of introduction of a compulsory test for knowledge of the Kazakh language among school graduates is on agenda as well.

The Head of the Committee emphasized the complete division of the Unified National Testing in two parts, which will occur in 2015, is intended to "remove from the UNT the social burden it has now."
