Krishna land plot in Karasay region returned to owner

Almaty. October 29. Kazakhstan Today - The supervising body of Almaty regional court on October 23 made the decision on returning land plot of 47 hectares in the Karasay region, belonging to the Society of Krishna consciousness, to its former owner E. Abdykalykov, the press service of the Society of Krishna consciousness informed the agency.

According to the press service of the religious society, the land plot of Krishna was withdrawn by the previous decision of court to the state land reserve. The present judicial session considered E. Abdykalykov's complaint with the request to cancel the contract of sale and purchase of 1999 and to return the land to him.

"The new verdict was pronounced, despite of the infringements of the legislation made during consideration of this case," the Society of Krishna consciousness considers. In particular, the representatives of the society draw attention that the regional court accepted E. Abdykalykov's complaint, though the term of its prescription expired more than one and a half years ago. The religious society, being the last buyer and the user of the land plot, has not been notified on the date and the time of hearing in court.

"Despite of the right to restore the rights of all parties at the moment of the conclusion of the arrangement, the court has only satisfied the interests of E. Abdykalykov and the disregarded the diligent buyers of the land plot, among them is the Society of Krishna consciousness, which need to be paid compensation," the press service noted.

As it was informed earlier, the conflict around the community of Krishna has lasted since 2004. In November 2006 the authority of Karasay region of Almaty oblast took down 14 houses of the believers of the community, on June 15, 2007 - 12 more houses, 47 hectares of the land were withdrawn to the agrarian stock of the region.
