Launch of Canadian satellite Nimiq-4 from Baikonur scheduled for reserve day
Baikonur. September 17. Kazakhstan Today - Launch of the Canadian satellite Nimiq-4 from cosmodrome Baikonur has been scheduled for the reserve day, the agency reports referring to the press service of Hrunichev State Space Research and Production Center.
According to the press service, launch of the carrier rocket Proton-M with the Canadian satellite Nimiq-4 postponed. A component malfunction was detected in the LV control system during on-pad tests. Launch of the carrier rocket is now scheduled for the planned reserve day. Launch of the carrier rocket Proton-M with the space satellite Nimiq-4 is planned for September 20 at 03.44 Astana time.
As it was informed earlier, satellite Nimiq-4 is constructed on the basis of satellite platform Eurostar E3000 by the European company EADS Astrium and intended for work in a geosteady-state orbit. КА Nimiq-4 belongs to Telesat Canada - to the national Canadian company of the satellite communication providing data transmission and rendering service of propagation of a broadcast in Northern America.
The satellite Nimiq-4 was constructed on the basis of satellite platform Eurostar E3000 by the European company EADS Astrium and intended for work in the geosteady-state orbit. The space satellite Nimiq-4 belongs to Telesat Canada - the national Canadian company of the satellite communication providing data transmission and rendering broadcast service for Northern America.

Oil spill detected in Caspian Sea
According to space monitoring data, received from Sentinel-1A (02:43 UTC), an oil spill was detected on March 30 in the area of Kashagan field in the Caspian Sea. The spill area is about 7 square kilometers. The spill was drifting to the north of the Caspian Sea," the publication reads.
If these facts are confirmed by Atyrau region’s Ecology Department, unscheduled inspection will be conducted at the North Caspian Operating Company. The results will be reported additionally," the Ecology Committee says.
