Report on rights and freedom in Kazakhstan to be prepared

Astana. October 17. Kazakhstan Today - Up to the end of 2006 the report on the situation in guaranteeing and protection of human rights and freedom in Kazakhstan will be prepared, the Secretary of the Commission of Human Rights Tastemir Abishev informed the journalists, the agency.

"The work on the report will be completed by the end of December 2006 and will be directed to the Head of the State and the governments," T. Abishev said during the break of the session of the working group on the report preparation.

The national report "is being prepared in Kazakhstan for the first time." "In the report we will cover the period from the moment of the independence up to the present time, " T. Abishev explained.

In the report the questions of guaranteeing of human rights in particular, justice process, preliminary investigation and inquiry, execution of verdicts, human rights in social, economic and migratory relations; legal education of the population and a number of others.

According to the Secretary of the Commission of Human Rights, representatives of the state bodies and nongovernmental organizations are taking part in the report preparation. Representatives of OSCE Center, UNDP, UNICEF and other international organizations are participating as experts and advisers. T. Abishev noted that the report will lay down the basis of the National plan of action in the field of human rights that will begin in February 2007.
